UKYP choose Transport in the House of Commons
On 4th November 2011, over 300 Members of Youth Parliament (MYP), including Faye, the Reading MYP, took part in a UK Youth Parliament debate, voting for 'Making Public Transport Cheaper' as their main campaign for 2012
Four other topics were debated as well as making public transport cheaper, following a vote of over 65,000 young people across the nation, to choose these five from a list of around 30. These were:
- ‘No to Tuition Fees, Yes to Graduate Tax’
- 'Zero Tolerance towards Bullying in Schools’
- ‘End Child Poverty’
- ‘A Greener Future for Britain’
Faye was one of the 70 chosen to speak, of the approximately 350 who wanted to, and made a strong point in the bullying debate.
