YOUR CHILDREN IN CARE COUNCIL NEEDS
YOU!
CHILDREN IN CARE
PLEDGE
In 2006 the Government asked
Young People and Children in Care for their views about what could
be done to improve the lives of Children and Young People in
Care. The Government has listened and taken on board what Young
People have said.
One thing that the Government has
said is that every local authority must set a Children in Care
Council so that Young People and Children in Care can be
consulted about how services can be improved.
The Government has also said that
each local authority must make a 'Pledge' or
promise which sets out all the things Young People and
Children in Care should receive from
the organisation looking after them.
Reading Borough Council would like
to hear from Young People and Children in Care their ideas
about what should be included in this promise.
You can see a copy of the Children
in Care Pledge here.
WHAT DO YOU THINK THE COUNCIL SHOULD
PROMISE?
