YOF and YCF
YOF & YCF is money
provided by the DCSF
(Department for Children, Families and Schools) to empower
young people to improve things to do and
places to go in Reading. This is to be spent over the
next year.

Who is the money
for?
What is the money for?
Projects that improve things to do & places to go.
Projects organised & run by young people, for young
people
Projects which show that young people want to take
part.
Projects that will improve opportunities for young
people.
What should your project
achieve?
Projects should be able to show how
the young people who take part in the project will benefit. This
should be linked to the Every Child Matters outcomes for children
& young people - more information on these can be found on the
Every Child
Matters website.
How do I apply for
money?
That's the easy bit! Just complete an
application form telling us about your project. Don't forget to
send us evidence that young people want to do your project.
Remember that the application form must be completed by
young people but you must have an adult supporting the
project!
What happens when I put in a
bid?
A group of young people from across
Reading make up a judging panel. We have put together a bidding
process for projects and will be choosing which projects deserve to
be funded. We will then decide how much we can give to each
bid and grant them the money!
